Safety Starts Before Work Begins: Meet Dave Burrough

At Tradetech Services Australia (TSA), safety isn’t something we think about once work is underway — it begins well before the first machine starts or the first task is carried out.

Safety is built into the planning, preparation, and decision-making that happens at every stage of a project. And at the centre of that approach are the people who lead it on the ground every day — our Safety Officers.

One of those dedicated professionals is Dave Burrough, a highly trained and experienced Safety Officer at TSA. Dave plays a key role in ensuring our worksites operate safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with TSA’s Safety First culture.

Working directly alongside crews and supervisors, Dave provides hands-on guidance and oversight across active job sites. His role is not only about compliance — it’s about leadership, early intervention, and supporting teams to manage risk before issues arise.

At TSA, proactive risk management is critical. Our Safety Officers help identify potential hazards early, verify critical controls, and ensure safe work practices are understood and applied consistently. This includes involvement in job-specific safety planning, site inspections, and continuous engagement with teams throughout the day.

With professionals like Dave on site, safety becomes part of the workflow — not an afterthought. His presence strengthens communication, reinforces safe behaviours, and helps ensure that projects remain organised, productive, and moving smoothly toward completion.

We’re proud to have Safety Officers like Dave Burrough helping lead from the front — ensuring that at TSA, safety starts before work begins and stays at the forefront of everything we do.
