Project Spotlight: Lee Street, Carlton

🚧 Project Spotlight: Lee Street, Carlton ⚡

Tradetech Services Australia (TSA), in partnership with FIMMA Constructions Pty Ltd, CitiPower and Powercor, recently delivered civil infrastructure works to support a new kiosk substation at Carlton North Primary School.

Working within a tight inner-city environment, our highly responsive Utilities team managed complex excavation conditions, including rock removal, while coordinating around live roads and pedestrian areas.

TSA’s traffic crews were also on the job, implementing full traffic control measures, including lane management, pedestrian detours, and safe work zone separation to ensure minimal disruption to the public while maintaining a safe environment for workers, the community and road users.

Scope highlights included:

  • Bulk and detailed excavation for underground services
  • Installation of precast cable pit
  • Installation and alignment of stacked electrical conduits into the pit
  • Installation of sealed service penetrations (Hauff Teknik) for long-term durability
  • Backfilling and compaction
  • Reinforcement & concrete slab pour

A major component of the works was the installation of underground conduits connecting the kiosk substation to the existing electrical network. TSA installed multiple conduit runs, carefully aligned and supported to ensure compliance with design and authority requirements.

From challenging ground conditions to precise service integration, this project showcases TSA’s capability in delivering high-quality civil works for critical electrical infrastructure.

Great work by the TSA team on site and all project partners involved.
