Overview
Tradetech Services Australia (TSA) was engaged to deliver the civil and structural package for the Truganina Central Data Centre Zone Substation, a critical asset supporting high-reliability 66 kV distribution. Delivered under Powercor A1 & A2 V1.0 design standards, the project encompassed foundations, trenching, and associated earthworks within a live utility environment. TSA’s expertise ensured precise execution in a high-specification, safety-critical setting supporting essential infrastructure for a Tier-1 data centre precinct.
Scope of Works
TSA delivered comprehensive civil and structural works, including construction of foundations for eight switchyard structures, control buildings, and amenities. Works involved reinforced concrete footings, underground conduit installation, cable trenching, drainage, and earthworks. Additional scope included fabrication of trafficable duct covers, earthing interface works, and cable hauling. All activities were completed in accordance with AS2067 and Powercor standards, supported by rigorous testing, QA processes, and full compliance documentation.
Delivery Methodology
TSA implemented a structured delivery approach aligned with Powercor standards and live substation requirements. Works were carefully staged to manage restricted access and maintain safety within an active electrical environment. Constructability reviews, digital surveying, and prefabrication techniques improved efficiency and accuracy. Strict QA processes, including pre-pour inspections and testing, ensured compliance. Close coordination across civil, structural, and electrical interfaces enabled seamless integration of all infrastructure components.
